Platellas: Denounces threats from Ionikos to terminate his contract-Justification by PEEOD

by

THE Vangelis Platellas was vindicated by the First Instance Committee for the Resolution of Financial Disputes for the case with his earnings and the PAE Ionikos he will have to pay him 48,911 euros. According to the testimony of the short-bodied winger, published by the newspaper Documento, in September he had received threats from thugs to terminate his contract collecting just 10,000 euros.

In the reasoning of the decision, the following are mentioned: “The applicant footballer claims that while he was working out at the PAE gym, his coach met him and informed him that the team president wanted to meet him. So he went to the press office to meet the president, who, speaking to him in an intense tone, told him “today will end the matter of your contract, for better or for worse, whatever it may be… you get 10,000 euros and you will sign his solution…”. At the same time, two large persons (bravos) entered the office – one of whom had his face covered with a mask – and moved menacingly towards the place where he was at that moment. At the same time the president told another person to bring the solution of the contract to sign it. He asked to go to the locker room, in order to collect his personal items and return, but when he left the office he realized that there were four burly men and they were blocking the exit from the stadium. As a consequence of the above, he never returned to the office and climbed a wall surrounding the stand, left without being immediately noticed by the stadium and hid in a nearby abandoned building. From there he called immediate action (100), stating that he was in danger. Subsequently, the police arrived at the scene and escorted him to the relevant Nice Security Department where he filed a complaint against the president of the said PAE, its coach Dimitrios Spanos and unknown persons for the crimes of extortion and threats against his life. He then went to a pathologist, who diagnosed that he suffered from “tachyarrhythmia and precardiac stress as a result of a traumatic episode”.».

The president of PAE Ioannis Tsirigotis, for his part, claims that he called Platellas, proposed that he receive 10,000 euros as compensation to terminate his contract and “upon hearing this proposal, the footballer reacted arrogantly and unleashed blasphemies against the president and the coach .. In its rationale, PEEOD mentions “intense psychological pressure, intimidation and indirect but clear threat». The decision also states that “the behavior of the president… exceeds the extreme evaluative limits of good faith and the users of business ethics…”.
