Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs beat Philadelphia Eagles to win Super Bowl

Led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl on Sunday night (12) and secured their third NFL title, the professional American football league.

The final, played at State Farm stadium, in Glendale, suburb of the Arizona capital, Phoenix, ended with the score of 38 to 35.

The Chiefs reached the NFL final for the third time in four years, driven by the exponent Mahomes, 27, but struggled against the Pennsylvania team.

The Philadelphia Eagles held the lead throughout the entire game. The Missouri team turned in the third quarter, and, in the final stage, the Eagles tied for 35 to 35. The Kansas City Chiefs sealed the victory with a few seconds left in the game.

With Sunday’s victory, Patrick Mahomes joined the select group of 13 NFL players who have won more than one Super Bowl. Tom Brady, 45, who announced his retirement earlier this month, is the record holder, with 7 titles.

The halftime show, one of the most watched events in the world, was in charge of singer Rihanna, who returned to the stage after more than five years away from the stage. Wearing a red jumpsuit, the singer performed on suspended platforms with a repertoire that included hits like “Where Have You Been” and “Work”.

The teams reached the Super Bowl with identical results throughout the season (14 wins and three losses) and were at the top of their divisions — the Kansas City Chiefs in the American Conference and Philadelphia Eagles in the National Conference.
