Olympiacos broke out with me 6-1 in Panaitolikos, after the heavy defeat by AEK in the Cup, but Serhi Kanos’ dedication was the one that moved all football (and non-football) Greece.
The Spanish winger lost his mother last week, aged just 56, and yesterday managed to score his first goal with the red and white dedicated it to her.
Immediately after the end of the match and the statements he made on the subscription channel, the Olympiakos footballer wrote a few heartfelt words on Instagram, thanking all those who stood by him and his family during the difficult times.
“I love you my mom.
I’m thrilled to be writing this so soon, but I wanted to say a few words to all those who have been with me this difficult week. With a text, a phone call, or a hug. My whole family felt it very much.
I feel incredibly happy that I felt my mother passed the same thing on to us. Happiness. And so I have to go on because I’m not sad, I’m just going to miss you so much mom. I’ll keep fighting with a smile for you.
I Love you so much!“, was Kanos’ message on Instagram.
