His thought to continue in the field of football even when he “hangs up his shoes” was expressed by Sergio Ramos on the UEFA website.
The Spanish centre-back spoke ahead of the Champions League round of 16 clash with Bayern Munich, stressing that he sees himself as president, sporting director or coach in the future.
“I invest a lot of time in football and I haven’t had much time for family these years. So when I retire, I’ll spend two years doing things with my kids, experiencing everyday things that can’t be done with football, like skiing, taking the kids on stress-free vacations, taking them to tennis lessons… trying to have a normal life”said the Paris ace.
Regarding his future, he added: “I have to be more dedicated to my work, but in the end what gives me adrenaline and makes me up is football. I’ve done it all my life and it’s what I do best. I see myself as a president, sports director or coach in the future”.
Finally, about the match against Bayern, he commented: “When I think of Bayern, I think of the day I scored against them in 2014. Of course, we know they are one of the best teams we can face, a huge challenge. But beating them would be a very positive message to send to the world. To win the Champions League you have to beat the best and Bayern are among them every year.”
