With Kingsley Coman as the scorer Bayern Munich defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 and took a narrow lead ahead of the second leg in Munich (08/03).

In his statements after the end of the game, the coach of the Bavarians, Julian Nagelsmannreferred to his team’s superiority, Paris’s improvement when Mbappe entered the game, and the Allianz Arena return leg in early March.

“It’s a first step and I’m happy with the result. We worked well in the first 25 minutes and at the start of the second half”the 35-year-old coach of Bayern Munich commented and continued:

“We were the best team, but there is a second step to take in Munich. We will be confident. We were dominant and more aggressive. The statistics were in our favor and we could have scored a 2nd or 3rd goal, but Kylian Mbappe can change any match. His entry woke up the players of Paris Saint-Germain, who are much better with Mbappe in their lineup. But in the second game, we will have good ideas to deal with him and we can hurt them in attack” were the words of Julian Nagelsmann
