The Piraeus guard made it clear that his team’s goal in Heraklion is none other than winning the first Final 8 Cup, while he added that the holding of the new format constitutes progress for the sport.

The interview is detailed on the EEC website:

-What are your thoughts on the first Final 8 in the history of the Greek Cup?

“I am very happy that the Final 8 will be organized in Greece, as it has been for years all over Europe. This shows that Greek basketball is taking steps forward and I am very happy that we are also taking part! I hope and believe that everything will go smoothly and it will be established, because basketball is a celebration and that’s how we should treat it.”

-Where do you think your team’s quarterfinal match will be decided?

“These games are games of concentration and preparation. And I’m not just referring to the quarter-final, but to all the matches of the tournament. As for the match against Aris, we have the quality to control the game and win it, so that we can progress and in the end reach the trophy, which is also our goal”.

-What is the biggest challenge for your team through its presence in the Final 8?

“Let’s get the title! There is no greater challenge than this. We have already won the first title of the year, which was the Super Cup, and the Greek Cup is the next one. We want to keep the cup in Piraeus! In addition, this specific event has historical significance, since it is the first time a Final 8 is held in Greece and we want to be the first to conquer it in this format! Of course our mission will be anything but easy. All teams are highly motivated and we must not forget that these are back to back games”.
