Mpakasetas ready to star in the Conference as well

Tasos Bakaseta and Manolis Siopis debut for Trabzonspor in the Europa Conference League round of 32 against Basel, with the Greek striker looking to extend this year’s European record he has already achieved.

After the deadly earthquake in Turkey that led to the suspension of the Turkish league, Trabzonspor is back in action, facing Basel tonight at 7:45 p.m.

Tonight’s match could not miss the best Greek football player for this year, Tasos Bakasetas, who was recently awarded by PSAPP and shocked with his speech about the depression he experienced. The 29-year-old striker led Trabzonspor to victory in last year’s Turkish championship with leadership performances. But he was also instrumental in winning the third place in this year’s Europa League which gave his team the ticket for the 32 of the Conference League. In the group stage, he scored 3 goals (against Monaco, Red Star and Ferencvaros) and 4 assists. He thus provided important solutions as there was no match out of the 6 in the group in which he did not score or get an assist. For him, this performance is already a career record in one season, in the European cups.

The team of Siopis and Bakaseta has moved away from the title challenge this year as they are -16 behind the leaders Galatasaray. He will claim second or third place, from which he is only two points away, as these are places that give a ticket to the Conference League. In the league, Bakasetas has scored 6 goals and 5 assists, proving that he is in very good playing condition this year.
