Another top official of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has been found dead, believed to have fallen from the 16th floor of a building from a height of almost 48 meters.

58-year-old Marina Yankina was found dead by a passer-by at the entrance of the building after she reportedly fell from the window of the high-rise building. It is the latest in a series of deaths of Putin officials who have died mysteriously. Yankina’s personal belongings were found on the 16th floor of the building where she is believed to have fallen from.

The Russian Investigative Committee and the press service of the Western Military District “Fontanka” confirmed her death and are investigating the cause of her death.

Marina Yankina was one of the key figures in the financing of the war in Ukraine, according to the Daily Mail. In particular, he was the head of the Department of Defense’s financial support department for the Western Military District, which was closely involved in the invasion of Ukraine.

Before joining the Western Military District, Yankina worked at the Federal Tax Service and also served as Deputy Chairman of the Property Relations Committee of St. Petersburg.

Her mysterious death adds to the already long list of official deaths during Putin’s long rule. Just last week, Major General Vladimir Makarov – a Russian general recently fired by Putin – was found dead under mysterious circumstances. At the same time, dozens of Russian businessmen have been found dead since the beginning of 2022 under inexplicable circumstances. Most were characterized as suicides.
