The great one Sinisa Mihailovic would have had a birthday like today and would have turned 54 years old.

THE DAZN released, today on his birthday, a documentary about Sinisa Mihajlovic’s last season on the bench Bolognain the 2021-22 season, entitled ‘We are one – the series’, revealing a series of emotional moments from his time at the Emilia-Romagna club.

After the Coppa Italia first round defeat to Ternana in August 2021, a furious Mihajlovic demanded an explanation from his players.

“Now I’m going to sit here and not leave until you tell me what went wrong. I am not in a hurry. We have to spit blood, there’s nothing else to do. Without anger we will have a great season. We have Orsato, I like him, he is a referee who makes people play. I don’t like to see people fall, but fight.”

When explaining how Bologna beat Atalanta the Serbian manager said: “There is no way for Ilicic to play in midfield, we have to mark him and not leave him any space.”

Later in the season, following Bologna’s shock 2-1 win over Scudetto hopefuls Inter, an elated Mihajlovic expressed his pride while speaking to the squad on a video call.

“You were heroes. On the other hand, maybe there were better players than you, but you were better people than them. And that’s what counts in life.”

Speaking from his hospital room, the Serbian coach broke down in tears: “There were moments when I don’t know how I didn’t go crazy. I didn’t even answer my children because I didn’t want them to see me so tired and weak. The children… And you know what I did in those moments? I was watching your games and I was proud of you.”
