Sloukas: “There is no streak in our minds, Valencia is a good team”

by

THE Kostas Sloukas he declared 100% ready for the match (24/2, 21:30) between Olympiakos and Valencia and stressed that the Piraeus must…regroup after winning the Cup.

The 32-year-old guard, who returned to action in the Final 8 of the Cup, pointed out that the “red and whites” do not have the streak in mind and described the “bats” as a good team.

What he said in detail

On his fitness after the injury and the motivation of Olympiakos:Yes I am 100% ready. I will also try with the team to bring a very important victory. The team must be regrouped, the Cup success must not change their course. Olympiacos does not need extra motivation to win, the motivation is already there and one more thing is that we are in 1st place and we have to stay there. Valencia is a pretty good team and plays at home very well».

On the… reorganization of Olympiakos and how it succeeds:It is the experience, the temperament, the character of the team. These play a role in regrouping. Of course everything has to be seen in practice but I am optimistic because throughout the season the team has shown a very good and competitive face».

On whether exclusion from the Cup gives Valencia extra motivation, and whether Olympiacos is thinking about its streak: For them it is an incentive that they were excluded. The fact that they are chasing the 8 is an extra motivation since they are playing with the front runner. We have to be careful from the start and throughout the game. We don’t have a streak in mind, it’s just Valencia the game we have to look at and Olympiacos has to win».
