Chelsea are considering Abraham’s… return

by

Chelsea are considering a move for the Roma striker, Tammy Abraham, back to the team this summer, according to Football Insider. The report states that the Blues are also considering signing Napoli’s Victor Osimen, but are aware that a huge fee would be needed to secure his signature.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the “blues” will need around 70 million pounds to get Abraham again. The buy-back clause is triggered in the summer, two years after Abraham’s initial departure.

He has scored seven goals and provided five assists in 32 appearances so far for Jose Mourinho’s side this season. Abraham had a more prolific season in 2021-22, scoring 27 times as Roma won the Europa Conference League. Back in England, his most prolific year in the Premier League came with Frank Lampard at Chelsea. He scored 15 goals and provided four assists in 34 appearances as the Blues’ main striker in the 2019-20 season. No player has managed to repeat that feat in the three seasons that followed, with leading scorer Havertz netting just five goals so far this season. Abraham’s contract with Roma runs until June 2026.
