Vouliagmeni and Olympiacos ready for the European battle

by

The Olympiakos men’s polo team faces Vouliagmeni in Laimos at 19:00 for the ninth matchday of the Men’s Polo Champions League and wants the double at the home of its opponent, in order to achieve its seventh victory and take a decisive step towards qualifying for the F8 of the leading European inter-club competition.

Igor Milanovich: “We are playing against Vouliagmeni, with whom we drew at home in our last game and I can say that we are happy that we did not lose under special circumstances. I hope that on Wednesday we will play better.

First of all, I want all our players to be able to play, because we have been having a lot of injury problems lately. I believe deeply in my team and in the hearts of my players and I believe we will win the game.”

Christopher Columbus: “Against Vouliagmeni, our goal is only victory. On the other hand, our opponents have shown that they play good polo, which can make it difficult for us. We have to show that we are a better team. We have to avoid situations like the ‘blackout’ we had in Kragujevac and we lost points. We have to get back to positive results.”

For their part, the “babies” are coming off their own win in A1 and want to stay in fourth place in the table.

Vladimir Vujasinovich: “We are playing against one of the main contenders for the title in the Final-8 in Belgrade, so our aim is to play as well as we can, as we have done so far.”

Nikos Kourouvanis: “It will be a difficult game against a very good team with good players, but we are also a quality team and I think if we are mentally, above all, ready for it, we will be much more competitive than we were in the match in Piraeus. We will give 100%, as we always do, to get the best out of this game.”
