by

Lefteris Avgenakis referred to the revival of the International Cycling Tour of Greece with his message.

The message of the Deputy Minister of Sports for the International Cycling Tour is detailed: «Friends,

In 2022, the International Cycling Tour of Greece returns after 10 years, upgraded and at a high level of competition in the calendar of the World Federation.

This is another important goal of sports extroversion and development of our country that we envisioned and are implementing.

We have introduced Cycling Greece, the body that will organize the International Tour of Greece and will take care, together with the local bodies of the dozens of cities, which will be crossed by the exciting routes of the Tour, for a perfect organization.

Our country will be at the center of world cycling for a week, from April 26, with the brilliant presentation of the great teams in Heraklion, Crete and with the start the next day.

Five stages with world-renowned athletes and teams will run through Greece from Crete to Epirus, finishing in Ioannina on May Day, sending an image from Greece to the whole world.

An image full of the blue sky and the bright light of our sun.

The beauties of our place, its great cultural heritage and the passion of the Greeks in everything they undertake to complete, guarantee the success of this new challenge for all of us.

We welcome 2022 and the International Cycling Tour, pledging that it will evolve year by year, rising to the scale of world cycling events and with it, our Greece, where it can and belongs, at the top.

We welcome 2022 and the International Cycling Tour with the message and the need to integrate cycling into the daily life of each of us. Safe, and ecological approach required by the increasingly deteriorating climate crisis, especially in cities.

Hard pedal, but I’m sure we will succeed. We have a strong team.

Happy birthday to everyone, with health. Happy New Year”.
