IFFHS: Top Greek team in the world ranking is Olympiacos – Only AEK is on the rise

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics announced its new global club ranking (IFFHS), for the period 1/3/2022-28/2/2023, with five Greek teams to be included in it.

First of all, from the point of view of Greek interest, Olympiacos remains above all other Greek teams. Specifically, it is located in 117th position with 112 points, falling of course from 94th.

Behind the “red and white” is PAOK, who dropped from 95th to 135th place with 103.75 points. Greek Cup winners Panathinaikos are the 3rd Greek team in a row, having dropped from 134th in 148th place with 99.25 marks.

AEK is the only Greek team that showed an increase. Specifically, it rose from 216th place to 210th with 78.5 points, while the Greek top five is completed by Aris who fell from 217th place in 251st with 73.5 points.

From there, Flamengo remains at the top, while Real Madrid rose to 2nd. It should be noted that in the “Top-100” there are 64 teams from UEFA, 27 from CONMEBOL, six from CAF, three from AFC. There are also 36 different countries (UEFA 23, CONMEBOL 7, CAF 4, AFC 2), with Brazil having twelve teams, while England, Spain and Italy each have seven.
