Seventh place was won by Elvira Katsali in the floor exercise final, at the world cup of instrumental gymnastics “AGF Trophy 2023” in Baku.

The 19-year-old athlete collected 11,600 points and was ranked 7th among the eight finalists, while also gaining 12 points in the world ranking, a fact that strengthens her chances to qualify for the pre-Olympic world championships in Antwerp (September 30 – October 8).

Katsali, who managed to enter a world cup final of this level for the first time, had finished 8th in the preliminary event with 12,400 points.

The medals in the women’s floor exercises were won, in order, by France’s Marine Boyer (12.833 ft.), Italy’s Ariana Belardelli (12.800 ft.) and Turkey’s Sevgi Kagisoglou (12.566 ft.).

From the Greek side, the first points in the annual world ranking of the instruments were also won in Baku by Magdaleni Tsiori (5 points for 12th place in the uneven bars) and Konstantinos Konstantinidis (3 points for 14th place in the rings).

This event was the third of a total of four games of this year’s world cups. The final ranking in each instrument will be formed after the corresponding world cup in Cairo (April 27-30).
