Lucescu: “There is more pressure on foreign referees from certain teams”

by

PAOK’s coach, Razvan Lucescu, stated that he was satisfied with the improvement of the team’s chemistry.

In detail what he said at the press conference:

“We had a lot of chances in the first half, while in the second half in the first 15 minutes we lost the intensity we had as a team in the attacking third. With the changes we made, however, we took control again.”

For the image of PAOK and for the situation at the top after the end of the playoffs: “We have to have a full mind to go game by game giving 100%, after a period with positive results and a good atmosphere. We had matches with teams that were ahead and that gave us confidence. The chemistry is improving and that’s important for us.”

On whether the roster has given answers: “This is the dynamic of the team, every season something happens, this is the biggest battle of every coach that they have to be ready at any moment. Some play some have to come off the bench to come and play. At the beginning Rafa and Nashberg wanted time, it is not easy to join our team. You see Rafa how much he has adapted and helps. Is smart.

For Ingason, it’s hard to take him out of the lineup because he’s a leader and Kargas has to wait, prepare properly when the opportunity comes, shows his professionalism. Omar came back from injury almost two months and today he was better, while Tyson was also fresher. They are quality players.”

For the lost points with Giannina and Asteras and that PAOK should have had 58: “Thanks… if I say so I’m crazy, I’m glad you say so. We are not talking about the points that were stolen from us, we are talking about the fact that we have to overcome the mistakes of the referees. But this story 2017-2018, 2018-19 this is the same story, PAOK is under attack from Athens”.

On whether foreign referees will be a solution: “I don’t want to get into it, it’s a matter of the Federation, but what I want to say is that with foreign referees there is more pressure from some teams. However, we enter every match in a good mood, until a mistake is made and we protest.”
