Antetokounmpo: “Some people take my politeness as a weakness”

by

THE John Antetokounmpo was asked after the Bucks win in Sacramento and his own outstanding appearance for the episode in the finale of the match, when Trey Lyles pushed him off and Brook Lopez lunged at the Kings player to defend him.

I didn’t understand what happened. I was told that Lyles pushed me, I didn’t realize it because my back was turned and I couldn’t see. Then I saw Brook (Lopez) get mad, which he doesn’t usually do. He was shouting ‘don’t do it again!’ I appreciate that Brook supports me, he is my man on and off the court. I will compensate him (s.s. smiles). As much as I want to defend myself sometimes, I try to stay committed to the game. Some take my politeness as a weakness, but my teammates are there to step in and I really appreciate their attitude. Sometimes I can get pissed off too if I think the opponent is overstepping the mark, but this time I didn’t find the reason with the game decided. Anyway, thanks to my teammates for being there for me, as I always will be for them“, Greek Freak pointed out.

As for his return to action after a three-game absence? “I take care of my body, I do what it takes to be able to play. I missed the games, but I also saw from the outside how good the team is and how well my teammates are performing. I had to get well and be 100% ready to come back. I hope we are healthy, knock on wood, in the final stretch of the season“, he said.
