by

More than a million signatures citizens from at least 190 countries have gathered non-profit organizations and associations to defend human rights, in an initiative that requires the FIFA to compensate of the employee and the families of the victims from the construction sites in Qatar.

More than 7 thousand people who participated in the turnover around the preparation and conduct of the recent Qatar World Cup it is estimated that they lost their lives. At the same time, there are hundreds of complaints about exploitative working conditions and even about migrant workers’ wages that were never paid.

The “bloody” as it is called by the organizations, organization, has been completed for about three months, with the strong man of the world federation, Gianni Infantino to speak of approx 7 billion euros profits.

The above reality, combined with the fact that FIFA’s announcements to create an organization to finance the workers remain on paper, have angered public opinion.

“FIFA gets rich thanks to the blood, sweat and lives of thousands of workers”

As it became known along with the petition, which has been signed by one million people, the world federation received at its offices in Zurich, a blue football shirt with the message “Justice for the workers” and a yellow vest referring to the workers in Qatar .

What was stated by Beata Ademariamlegal representative of the American non-profit organization Avaaz:

“Our letter has the support of more than a million signatures from more than 190 countries. Public opinion has realized the huge injustice against the workers and is standing by their side.

It requires from FIFA to compensate them by giving only a very small percentage of the billions he made thanks to the sweat, blood and lives of hundreds of workers.

Give the workers and their families what they deserve!”
