Nikolakopoulos: “The foregone conclusion and the double example to be avoided by Olympiakos”

by

Commenting on the announcement of Volos on the appointment of a Greek referee in the match with Olympiakos, Costas Nikolakopoulos, speaking to News Bulletin 247, stated that the Volians correctly emphasized in the announcement that there is a unanimous decision of the Leagueand a request to KED to have foreign referees play in all playoff matches.

Translating Diamantopoulos’ definition to this game, our reporter stated that: “KED wants to create a rule so that the next matches of both Volos and Aris will be whistled by Greek referees despite the fact that the League has requested that foreign referees whistle in all the playoffs”.

However, Kostas Nikolakopoulos reminded that two years ago, 01/03/2021 in the match Volos – Olympiacos (1-2) a Portuguese referee was appointed and Volos issued a statement against his referee stating – among other things – that “we are sure that another referee, a Greek, could not do worse”…

For the match against Volos now, Kostas Nikolakopoulos emphasized that Olympiacos already recently despite the fact that they have really made a huge effort and have covered a large part of the point difference they had from the top has committed two football “crimes” in similar away games, in Ioannina (2-2) and Peristeri (1-1) although he had preceded them, and has lost four points. He added that if he had those points he would be just one point below Panathinaikos and one above AEK, that is, in a much better position and concluded that: “Olympiacos must have them as examples to avoid in view of the match against Volos, so as not to repeat them, which if it happens will be really painful for him”.
