Cantillo scores at the end and leads Corinthians to victory against Fortaleza

In front of 36,059 payers, Corinthians had a goal from defensive midfielder Cantillo, 41 minutes into the second half, to beat Fortaleza by 1-0 this Saturday (6). The match at Neo Química Arena was valid for the 30th round of the Brazilian Championship.

With the result, the team from São Paulo reached 47 points, one behind Fortaleza, which continues in fifth place at Nacional.

After a hard-fought victory over the Chapecoense lantern by 1-0 in the second (1st), the Alvinegro team found itself again with a practically full arena, but it didn’t do a good performance and left the fans scolding Sylvinho for most of the game.

Among the complaints in the initial stage, the main one was the difficulty of overcoming Fortaleza’s marking in midfield, while Renato Augusto, with the capacity to organize the sector, was moved to attack.

The goal capped the good moment of the defensive midfielder, who last week had been released for the birth of his son. Last Tuesday (3), he was called up to defend Colombia in the World Cup qualifiers. “I’m thankful to God for everything that happens,” he told Premiere after Saturday’s clash.

Despite the defeat, its second in a row, Fortaleza lives the expectation of carrying out the best campaign of a team from the Northeast in the era of straight points – Vitória (BA), with 59 points and 5th place in the 2013 competition, holds the brand.
