Biliris: “I told Bennett that if they can’t bring in better referees, to leave”

by

Regarding the position of PAE Aris in yesterday’s meeting of the “6” with the EPO, he spoke Panagiotis Biliris.

The vice-president and legal advisor of the club, mentioned among other things that the Thessaloniki players want better referees in the playoffs, while he revealed that he told Bennett that “if you can’t bring in good referees, then leave.”

In detail what he said to the ERT3 camera:

“I think that 4 hours was not that episodic. All teams agreed that they want better referees and are not happy with the refereeing. This is what I collected while I was inside. The meeting also had things of substance.

For the position of PAE Aris: “The position of PAE is comparative. We want better referees. If they can’t then leave. No one is irreplaceable.”

Regarding whether he spoke with Takis Baltakos: “I only addressed Bennett. I told him “if you can’t bring in good referees then leave”.

The reaction of Aris is clear and has been expressed by Mr. Karipides. PAE will react as far as it can. Either through announcements or more visits to Mr. Bennett to protest, he will react as much as he can.”

On whether he thinks the arbitration problem will improve: “I think we will see better referees than we have seen so far.

Elite referees are employed both in their own leagues and in European competitions. The point is to use A-class referees from the developed leagues.”

Regarding whether he conveyed to Theodoros Karypides what happened in the meeting: “I didn’t talk much with Mr. Karipides because of the time difference, but also because of his trip. Tomorrow we will get together and we will discuss life.”
