Bale’s emotional farewell message to the Wales national team

A few months after his announcement that he was leaving active action, Mr Gareth Bale she said goodbye to her friends national Walesthrough a speech before the start of the match against Latvia.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid player played for the last time with his country’s national team at the Qatar World Cup, while in tonight’s (28/3) match he was given the opportunity to send his farewell message and to be deified by his countrymen.

Trying to hold back his tears, the 33-year-old emphasized that it was an honor to represent his country all these years, expressing his gratitude for the support he received.

In detail what he said:



“I would just like to say that I am honored to represent my country and compete in front of the best fans in the world! You supported me, my family and the whole team, both in good and bad times. I can’t express how grateful I am to you and honestly playing for you has been the happiest event of my career. Obviously, I’m going to miss playing for you.”

“Make sure you continue to support the team. You, the fans, are Welsh football. You are the ones who make it so special. Now I am one of you and I hope to meet again in the future”.

THE Bale ended his international career as the player with the most caps (111) and most goals (41) in the history of the Wales national team, and associated his name with the team’s most successful period, leading them to the finals of EURO 2016 and 2020, but also of the World Cup in Qatar.
