Diplomatic, as always, Mr Pablo Lasso!
THE Spaniard coach whose name has been strongly associated with the bench of Panathinaikos, was called for the first time to respond himself to the rumors concerning the “greens”. Lasso, however, avoided answering, stressing that “all will be known when they must be known.”
His statements to “AS” in detail:
For the interest of Panathinaikos: “Things will be known when they need to be known. I feel a little strange because, since I was sixteen, I’ve been moving from one place to another.”
For Penaroyas: “Peñaroja is doing a great job and the team is playing well and engaging. People are leaving Buesa happy even though they’ve lost the game and that’s a good sign.”
For the NBA: “You will never be able to say who is the best player in history. Every season is different and they cannot be compared to each other because the pitches, dimensions, rules, materials have changed and nothing is the same. In theory, the best are those of now because it is supposed that, with the passage of time, everything gets better. It’s not going to get any worse, is it? Everyone talks about Michael Jordan, but, for example, the one I really fell in love with was Stockton. The finals I love are those of those years, that’s the memory I have in my mind. That doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy watching the NBA, LeBron or Curry now.”
