THE Mitchell spoke to the camera of COSMOTE TV about the resumption of the championship, about the situation in which o Olympic and the team’s goals, but also for his performances Kostas Fortunis.

You had made a post on your birthday that you wished you would stay at Olympiakos and next season…
“I have a contract for one more year and the whole world knows that I really like being here and working. As a coach, this is my team.
I feel very comfortable here. I really like the way we work and it shows on the pitch. I am very happy here because on the street everyone treats me with love. Also, my profile as a person who always wants to win fits perfectly with that of Olympiakos”
Did the break come at a good or bad time for your team?
“Whenever this interruption came we had to accept it. My players are prepared to face the next game in the same way they faced the last games against Volos and AEK. We are on the right track and we want to continue like this.
We want to play with the same mentality as we have for a long time. We have shown that we go into all games with the intention of winning them. We want to be champions. We state this in all our games, but without being overly euphoric, nor too dramatic. We want to succeed and that’s what we’re working on.”
How does he prepare the team for the consecutive games to come?
“We will look at each game individually, but it is an opportunity to take advantage of all the players we have because really everyone can help at the moment. From a mental point of view we want to face all the games in the same way and prove that Olympiacos has the ability and the players to do that.
The big teams play twice a week and we as a big team are prepared for that. We have prepared our program and our training to cope with it properly.”
The last few months have seen the best version of Fortune in quite some time. Where is this attributed?
“It is due to him. He has done it. We have found the answer to where Fortune is or how Fortune is.
It was exactly what we needed. For us he is a very important player because he is the one who sets the example that anyone who wants to be in this team must show it and try.
In the game against AEK, he wore the captain’s armband after a long time. This shows how it is here and what it can offer. It shows that Fortune has returned”
