Prelevich: “I fought too hard not to cry”

by

Bane Prelevic shared his feelings on public television for the shirt retirement ceremony held by PAOK last Saturday.

What he said in detail:

“I fought very hard not to cry at the retirement ceremony. I wanted to keep a leadership stance”

On whether he remembers the great moments with PAOK:

“When you’re a player emotions come and go quickly because you don’t have time to analyze them too much. The 1991 title paved the way for the rest of the Greek teams for the golden era of Greek clubs in the European championships”

On whether he thought about how hard it was to get tagged:

“I didn’t think of it that way. You always try to be good on the field and help your team.”

Why he initially didn’t want the shirt retirement ceremony to take place before revising:

“No.7 should be worn by a good player. A new star should wear No.7. With the help of the chairman and the rest of the management and my friends on the team, I revised. Too many of my friends off the field felt the same way, as did my daughters. I finally reviewed and realized it was time”

For life coaching:

“I study the science of life coaching. In our society we learn everything, but we don’t learn how to think.”

On whether he wants to continue contributing to basketball:

“I am now ready to play basketball again. I have the necessary experience. I can talk to all the basketball people and discuss everything.”

The first picture that defines your career:

“Unfortunately the first that comes to mind was the defeat by Real in the 1992 final”
