Three points… character and top again with “golden change” Sporar for Panathinaikos!

by

A great “double” in the battle for the championship for Panathinaikoswho won with 1-0 him Marsat “Kleanthis Vikelidis”, as part of the 3rd round of the Stoiximan Super League playoffs.

With the “greens” showing character, holding inviolate their home for the 21st time this year, to dominate the repetition and the Sporar to enter change by scoring it ninth goal of in the league, at 69′!

Thessalonians finished the game with ten playersdue to his dismissal Arch in the second minute of stoppage time with a second yellow. But they should have a numerical disadvantage from 26′but the… murderous marking of Odubajo in Kleinheisler was not penalized by referee Bognar with a straight red…

Thus, Panathinaikos won its first victory in the “mini championship” and came back in peak of the score with 66 points. While Aris stayed at 41 points and fifth place.

In the… minds of the coaches:

Tolis Terzis “brought down” Mars in formation 4-2-3-1. Siabanis sat in goal, having Odubazzo, Fabiano, Brambetz and Mazikou four at the back. Etembo and Darinda were the two “cutters”, with Palma and Iturbe moving to the sides and Mateo Garcia behind Camara who fought in the attack.

Ivan Jovanovic on the other hand, he lined up Panathinaikos with a system 4-3-3 and four changes in relation to Volos, but also the unexpected with Brignoli. Putting Lodingin under the goalposts and Sanchez, Senkefeld, Sarlia and Juancar in line in defence. Ruben, Tserin and Kourbelis formed the three midfielders on the axis, with Palasios, Ioannidis and Kleinheisler making up the attacking triplet.

The match:

Aris took possession from the start, moving the ball quickly to find the opposing defense disorganized and targeting the right sideespecially after -and- the observation of Sanchez, with a yellow card.

At the same time, Panathinaikos tried to push upin order not to allow him to play and steal balls at the same time, but at the same time he failed to find the spaces for him to become a threat to Siabani.

On the contrary, the hosts made their presence felt twice… With the direct foul execution by Palma from a diagonal position and to the left which he found at upper side of the horizontal beam by Lodingin in the 12th minute and with a header by Darida, seven minutes later, from a corner kick.

who, however, they should be down to ten men from the 26th minutewhen and Odubajo found Kleinheisler with both feetbut the referee Bognar did not send him off as he should have, observing him only with a yellow card!

Aris-Panathinaikos 0-1

The game continued to have a slow tempo, with both teams mainly careful not to find themselves in front of… unpleasant surprises, avoiding unnecessary risks, as a result of which no worthwhile phases occurred until the half-time whistle.

With the “clover” registering his first final in the 36th minute with his direct free kick Kleinheisler and the Ioannidis to push up, to steal the ball, coming in from the left and drifting into the area, but Etembo kicked in front of Palasios, in the 45th minute.

In between and specifically in the 40′, Aris had the best phase of the first part. When Iturbe passed from the left on the shaft to unguarded Palma who squared, sending the ball next to the left post Lodingin.

Tolis Terzis dropped Ducouret in the second half, moving Palma to the left wing of the attack and Darida closer to Kamara, to find better balance for his team.

However, it was Panathinaikos who entered better and had their first good moment in the 57th minute, with Palasios wasting it. Ivan Jovanovic substituted Sporar and Mancini for Ioannidis-Kleinheisler and a few minutes later he saw his team miss the big chance for 0-1… As Sporar missed in a four-four with Ciabanimisplacing.

the “greens” they continued to press better inside the field and looking for the goal that would confirm their superiority. Goal which came, finally, to 69′as from Cerin’s corner kick and Sarlia’s header from the small area, the Sporar with new header he gave height to the ball and made it 0-1!

Aris-Panathinaikos 0-1

With the momentum in their favor, no, they arrived very close to a second goal, two minutesthrough a quick counter-attack in which Palacios passed into empty space to Sporar who turned to Bernard, who instead of shooting “laid” the oncoming Kurbeli but the Panathinaikos captain’s pass was weak and the ball ended up on Siambanis.

Terzis also used Gray instead of Etembo, Aris played with two forwards in the last 15 minuteswith the delays, but it was again the visitors who came close to another goal…

As in the 89th Mancini he took the ball under the cross managed to beat Piersman and Fabiano, entered the area from the right but misplaced!

THE Kamaras sent off in the second minute of stoppage time didn’t change the record, with 0-1 holding until the end.

MVP:
Andraz Sporar scored the goal that was supposed to decide the winner, so… by definition he wins that particular “award”. The Slovenian striker had earlier managed to miss another great chance to make it 0-1, however… he redeemed himself afterwards, with his ninth goal of the year “unblocking” him, probably, at the right time.

Aris-Panathinaikos 0-1

The… whistle: The Hungarian Bognar didn’t have a very difficult phase to manage, since even in the one he… had a hard time with, he had an easy task. As it is evident that Odubajo’s marking on Kleinheisler is the definition of a red card! Of course, VARista Berke also has a share of responsibility, who did not call him for an onfield review… As far as Kamara’s dismissal is concerned, even this could have come earlier.
