Muzzetti threw Djokovic out of Monte Carlo!

Lorenzo Muzzetti made the “bang” in Monte Carlo, who prevailed with a great upset (4-6, 7-5, 6-4) of Novak Djokovic and qualified for the Monte Carlo quarterfinals.

The 21-year-old Italian beat the world No1 after a two-hour, 54-minute battle, in a match that was interrupted for an hour by rain, and will face compatriot Yannick Sinner next.

The battle was great in the first set. Djokovic broke twice, with Muzzetti erasing one straight away to cut to 4-2. Nole led 5-2 and twice reached another break to take the set, but the Italian stopped him, made it 5-3 and reduced it to 5-4 with a break of his own. Djokovic stopped the counterattack he received and with a new break he made the 1-0 set 6-4.
