Nadal announced that he will not compete in the Madrid Open either

by

After Monte Carlo and Barcelona Open o Rafael Nadal will not take part in either Madrid Open!

The Spanish tennis player’s injury will keep him out of the Madrid tournament, as he announced via video on social media.

As you know I suffered a serious injury in Australia. It was originally going to be a six to eight week recovery period and now we’re on the 14th.

The reality is that the situation is not what we would expect. We have followed all the medical advice but somehow the development was not what we were initially told and we are in a difficult position.

Weeks go by and I had the illusion that I can play in tournaments that are the most important in my career like Monte Carlo, Barcelona Open, Madrid Opan, Rome Masters, Roland Carros and for now I missed Monte Carlo and Barcelona Open, but I won’t be able to be at the Madrid Open either”.

The injury still hasn’t healed and I can’t figure out what to do to compete. I’ve been training, but a few days ago we decided to change course a bit, do another treatment and see if things improve to try to be in what’s next. I can’t say when I will be back because if I knew I would tell you but I don’t know” were Nadal’s words, among others.
