Jakub Jankto, who recently received widespread support when he came out as gay, has announced that he will no longer play for Sparta Prague this year due to health concerns!
The international Czech midfielder, who plays on loan in his homeland from Getafe, became the first footballer from La Liga to announce last February that he is gay…
His announcement immediately received the support of Neymar, the Premier League, La Liga, UEFA and – among others – the Spanish former coach of Olympiakos, Mitchell.
“In recent years, and especially in the last year, so much has accumulated around me that it is better to think about my health as well. It wasn’t the best sporting year for me. I am even sadder that my health and mental state will not allow me to continue my quest for the title and the CupYankto said in a post on Instagram.
The 27-year-old central midfielder has played 16 games in all competitions for Sparta Prague this season.
