FIBA’s announcement:

“With this letter, we would like to inform you that the FIBA ​​Europe Executive Committee has unanimously decided not to allow the registration of the Belarus and Russia men’s national team in the FIBA ​​EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers, with the Third Round scheduled to take place in July-August 2023.

Following the recommendation issued by the International Olympic Committee (“Teams of athletes with Russian and Belarusian passports cannot be considered”), the FIBA ​​Executive Committee decided last week not to allow the registration of the Russian men’s national team in its Olympic Qualifier FIBA. -Qualifying Tournament 2023 (FIBA Pre-OQTS)’.
