Athanasiadis: “United with energy and passion against Olympiakos”

by

After the interruption due to Easter, the AEK enters the battle of the championship on Sunday (23/04, 21:00) against Olympic in “G. Karaiskakis”.

Speaking to the Cosmote TV camera, Mr George Athanasiadisreferred to what he needs the “Union” in order to get a positive result from Faliro, while, at the same time, he also focused on the injury of the team leader, Sergio Araujo.

The statements of Giorgos Athanasiadis in detail:

For the game against Olympiakos: “It’s a difficult game, an away derby. We know that Olympiacos is a tough team. And how he plays all the derbies. We have to be united, improve some things that we did wrong at home and lost and manage to get the three points”.

For the role that the spiritual part will play and whether it will be judged in which team will appear more passionate: “It definitely needs passion and energy from everyone. Let’s be united. I believe that plays its role as well. But beyond that, we have to be focused for ninety-five minutes because from what you see, not many chances are made. There are two or three and we have to take advantage of them.”

Regarding the fact that PAOK – Panathinaikos is also on the same match day: “Basically, what we think about is whether we have a positive result and then what others will do. We look at each game individually and we’ll see what happens.”

For the absence of Sergio Araujo: “It is an unpleasant news for us. Sergio is the main captain of our team. He is, for me, an amazing player. He does a very good job, which is not visible to the world. Maybe people think Sergio should score. But it does everything else. We wish him well and that he will soon return to us.”
