Stoiximan Super League: The top race Panathinaikos-AEK and Olympiacos looking for a reaction

With a busy weekend, the 6th for the playoffsthe action continues in Stoiximan Super League.

The curtain opens at 6 pm, with Panathinaikos playing at the Panthessaliko Stadium against Volos, while an hour later Olympiacos also face Aris away from home.

At 21:00, the AEK-PAOK derby is scheduled, which is important both for the “Union” and for the people of Thessaloniki.

VOLOS – PANATHINAIKOS


The two teams will face each other for the 10th time in the Super League and sixth for this season, after they have also met for the Greek Cup.

Panathinaikos had won in the first four games this year, in regular season of the league and the Greek Cup, but in the First Round of the Playoffs the two teams were tied 0-0.

Panathinaikos only conceded a goal in the first of their games against Volos, a 5-1 away win for the league in the first half of the season, and have kept a clean sheet in the other four.

In his four visits to Volos so far, he has two wins, the Magnesia team prevailed at home in the 2021-22 season, while there is also a draw in their maiden game in the Super League, on December 8, 2019.

Panathinaikos had kept a clean sheet in the first four matches of the Playoffs and conceded a goal from PAOK in Toumba, while Volos has conceded a goal in all four of its games and only kept a clean sheet against Panathinaikos.

ARIS – OLYMPIAN


Aris was the only team in the regular season of the Stoiximan Super League that forced Olympiakos to an away defeat. The Red and Whites did one more, against Panathinaikos in their last away game of the Playoffs.

The two teams also faced each other in the Hellenic Cup, with Olympiakos scoring two 1-0 victories, in Piraeus and Thessaloniki.

Aris from 2019-20 until now has hosted Olympiakos three times for the Playoffs process and there is one draw and two Olympiakos wins, while the two teams also met in 2009-10, where Aris prevailed 2-0.

The most popular score between them, however, is 0-0 and in 13 of their matches no goals have been scored. There are still five 1-1 draws, while four times there has also been a 2-2 scoreline.

Most of Aris’ victories are 1-0, since they have won seven times with this score, while the most popular for Olympiakos’ victories is again 1-0 with six appearances.

AEK – PAOK


AEK has hosted PAOK 71 times for the championship and has a total of 47 wins, PAOK 9 and 15 of their matches have ended in a draw.

For the Playoffs process with the participation of the champion, they have met three times and PAOK has not been defeated as a guest (2 wins – 1 draw).

In total they have met nine times for the Playoffs in all their forms and AEK has won four times, PAOK two and three matches have ended in draws, all 0-0.

AEK started the process of the Playoffs with a goalless draw at home against Panathinaikos, but from then on scored in all four matches, winning twice with 1-0 and another two with 3-1.

AEK prevailed 2-0 during the regular season of the championship and with that victory broke a streak that wanted PAOK to remain unbeaten for seven consecutive games against the Yellow and Black, while they also prevailed in the 1st Round of the Playoffs in Thessaloniki, resulting in put an end to the negative streak she had as a guest at PAOK’s headquarters.
