After the end of the third semifinal of the Women’s Volleyball League and the qualification of Panathinaikos on her AEKthe “Union”, issued a statement, through which it strongly complained about the refereeing of the match.

In fact, the management of Erasitechnis, after a unanimous decision of the Board of Directors, took the decision to send protest letter to EOPE and KED, asking for her punishment of referee Mylonakis, but also him lifetime ban of the team’s matches, even citing the phases that the “Union” complains about.

AEK’s update in detail:

“1) With the sets tied at 1-1, in the third and most decisive set, it was clear that AEK was firmly ahead of the score by a margin of 3 to 5 points. At 14-11 and while PAO had already taken a timeout and there was no other way to stop the pace of the game, referee Mylonakis claimed that he was bothered by cigarette smoke and stopped the game for excessive time, without having previously given any warning order to the fans from the loudspeakers. With this decision, the referee Mylonakis unnecessarily froze the pace of the match and obviously favored the team that was firmly behind in the third set.

2) With the restart of the game, the referee turns a clear out into a blocked out (clear in the video) and instead of 15-11 the score becomes 14-12. At the justified expression of question of our player, Anna Kalandatze (also clear in the video), he gives her a red card (!) which means another point in favor of PAO. Somehow, the score instead of 15-11 in favor of AEK “transforms” into 14-13, having already stopped the pace of AEK, and additionally causing unrest and nervousness in our team.

3) Correspondingly, he never gives a red card to gymnasts and the PAO coach, neither for jumping and shouting, nor for his much stronger protest. And this is clear from the videos sent by AEK.

4) Referee Mylonakis did not allow our team to claim the tie in the fourth set and claim the victory in the tiebreak, after with a decisive reverse whistle in front of his eyes, he turned the clean block out and 23-24 into an out and 22 -25, giving PAO the win. Our videos, both from the camera of the broadcast of the match, and from the camera of the statisticians, are clear and even show that they do not believe that the PAO athletes either, the whistle of Mr. Mylonakis.

5) From the beginning of the match, the refereeing decisions of Mr. Mylonakis were against AEK. In the first set, after AEK was 4-1 from the four successful serves of our athlete, Anna Kalandatze, he interrupted the game unnecessarily, because he was disturbed by the hanging banner on the platform behind him.

6) In a clear phase with four PAO balls, he did not count them, when two players passed at the same time, both catching the ball together, allowing the visitors’ attack to be completed.

7) In an attack by PAO, the ball in front of his eyes hit the antenna, but he attributed the point to AEK, because the attack ended up being out.”
