Terrible performances of Brignoli against Panathinaikos: In 62% of the games they do not concede a goal!

THE Panathinaikos has the first reason to win the championship and Alberto Brignoli has a great contribution to this process.

After the 0-0 draw against AEK on Sunday, the Italian goalkeeper arrived 39 matches in which he has not conceded a goal in a total of 63 appearances with the “clover”. We are talking about rate of 61.9%! In fact, his home has been broken into only 35 times during this time!

The 31-year-old ace had 32 clean sheets in 106 appearances with the Ternana conceding a total of 114 goals, while in 73 matches with Embolization had respectively 20 matches without a goal and 80 passives.

This season is by far the best in Brignoli’s career. In 32 appearances in the league (he has only missed one game, against Aris in Thessaloniki during the regular season) he has 21 clean sheets, 16 in the regular season and five in the six matches that have been played in the playoffs.

Brignoli had three other previous clean sheets in double figures in a season: both with Ternana, in 2012/13 with 10 times in 28 matches and in 2014/15 with 15 times in 38 matches, but also with one with Eboli in the 2020/21 season, with 12 times in 32 games. But in no season did he come close to this year’s statistics…

With the Italian, but also with his help Yuri Lodigin in a match, Panathinaikos writes historic defensive performances this year. He has conceded just 13 goals in 33 Stoiximan Super League games and is directly threatening the record of the 1983/84 season, when he conceded just 14 goals in a 30-match league campaign.

In fact, if the championship is decided on a draw, Levia Garcia’s penalty which was saved by Alberto Brignoli in the 100th minute of the derby with AEK at Opap Arena on January 8, will be the phase that will have decided the title!
