Olympiakos-Panathinaikos: For the equalizer the “red and white” for 2-0 the “green”

With the second confrontation of the “eternal” rivals, it continues tonight (18:00) the Women’s Volley League finals schedule in Rentis.

The Olympiakos team welcomes Panathinaikos to the “Melina Merkouri” indoor gym where they will look for the victory which will balance the series at 1-1 after and the victory of the “greens” in Agios Thomas with 3-1 in the sets.

The “red and white” made an excellent appearance in Maroussi in the first final, even taking their first set against the “clover” this season after both 3-0 defeats in sets in regular time. Lorenzo Micelli’s side have properly prepared their squad for the ‘eternal’ derby stating: “I want us to think only about the next final, tomorrow. The last match belongs to the past. We have to focus more on ourselves, on our game, be focused and start a new battle on the field. The series will be very long! I have confidence in my team, in my athletes. We will approach the match in the right way to even the series.”

On the other side, Panathinaikos goes with the best possible mentality to the headquarters of its opponent, as the episodic victory in Agios Thomas and both victories in the regular season gives it the right to prove its superiority. The “green” win makes it 2-0 in the finals series and automatically acquires a large advantage for their second consecutive championship.

For the second final, Panathinaikos central team gave statements, Irini Chatziefstratiadou:

“Another strong game awaits us. For our part, we have left Saturday’s match behind, we are focused on tomorrow’s game because it will be a completely different match at a difficult venue. Our goal is victory to get one step closer to winning the championship.”
