Top for his team Dimitris Itoudiswho did the most “damage” in the decisive points, were the Pierre and Dorsey with 17 p. and 16p. respectively.
From the… shipwreck of Piraeus, only O McKissick with 20 points, who was also the only one who believed it. Good ones too Fal and Kanan with 12p. everyone. The rest of Bartzoka’s players were inferior to the circumstances, for the most part.
The match
Olympiacos started with Fal, Vezenkov, Papanikolaou, Kanan and Walkap. The “red and whites” made a good start with a 5-0 run, but Fener immediately responded with a 7-0 (7-5) of their own, which gave them the pace, with Dorsey and Pierre sending them to +5 (12 -7), at 4′. The Piraeus team countered with Walkup and Fall for a draw (12-12), with Dorsey and Gudurich putting the home team ahead again (17-14) in the 8th minute. With Black’s basket and foul, the Piraeus tied temporarily, with Kalathis making it 18-17 in the first period with a free throw at the end.

Then, Barzoka’s players started the accumulated mistakes, with Edwards coming with… off the bench and pushing Fener on a 9-0 run, for +5 (32-27), at 17′. In the remaining time, the Piraeus took control of the match through their defense and offensive rebounds. So they went on a 5-0 run to end the first half, going into the locker room with the lead (32-33).

Fener reacted and the pace of the match picked up, with Walkup and Kanan sending the “red and whites” to +5 (38-43), in the 24th minute. With Hayes as the protagonist, the home team got closer to the basket (43-45), with the “hot” Kanan answering and the Piraeus escaping to +5 (44-49), in the 27th minute. In the last minutes, Barzokas players “stuck” offensively, making easy mistakes and easily giving possessions to the Turks, but at least their defense had remained at a… level and so they ended the third period with the lead (48-49).
Olympiacos continued to make mistakes at the beginning of the fourth quarter, with Hayes making two three-pointers for Fener’s +5 (54-49) at 32′. Then, the “red and whites”… rallied through their defense, but also the hungry McKissick, who with his energy on both sides of the floor, contributed the most to individual scores of 2-9, for the lead (56- 58), at 34′. Hayes temporarily put the hosts in front, with McKissick responding (59-60), in the 35th minute. However, the players of Barzokas did not have a rhythm in the attack, while on the other hand Pierre took… fire from outside the 6.75m. and took the Turks to +6 (67-61), at 37′. Dorsey then sent the difference to +7 (70-63), with McKissick responding with back-to-back 3-pointers to just make the final 73-69.
