The Commission states in its report that the sports facility is judged inappropriate according to the attached observations of the Public Health Doctor, as well as the representatives of the Greek Police and the Fire Service.
Today “E” brings to light the report of the Commission that leads to the suspension of the operation of the specific sports facility and information states that already Iraklis Larisas who was using the specific facility applied to play the remaining home games in Super League 2 at the Plovdiv stadium.
In detail, Public Health physician Nikolaos Kanellopoulos reports: “In the area of ​​the clinic there were two examination beds without the existence of any other logistical infrastructure. The sanitary facilities were deemed adequate.”
The representative of the Police, Sotirios Tsiakanikas, stated: 1.) a) The railings (Plexiglas) of the fencing are missing from the gate of doors 13-14, so that it becomes easy for spectators to enter the playing field. b) The stands of gates 3-10 are also missing sections (Plexiglas) of the fencing.
2. a) The sports facility has one and only entrance-exit for the arrival and departure of spectators, since it is only connected by road to the unnamed road that leads to the Larissa University Hospital. 3. a) During the autopsy it was established the existence of equipment for the facility’s electronic surveillance system, but it was not possible to verify its proper operationas due to its long-term disuse, the presence of a technician is necessary for the eventual control of the individual systems (cameras, screens, computers, etc.).
Finally, the representative of the Larissa Fire Service George Nakas in his report he states: a) It was not possible to verify the proper operation of the permanent active fire protection systems (automatic fire detection system, automatic explosive mixture detection system, manual fire alarm system, automatic sprinkler system, permanent water supply fire extinguishing network, automatic gas fire extinguishing system ) because there was no electricity supply in the facility. An attempt was made to activate the backup power supply (H/Z) by those in charge, without it being possible, our Service was verbally requested to repeat the autopsy in a short period of time and with the condition of full operation of all permanent systems, but there was no positive response from business managers.
b) Our Service requested the maintenance and proper functioning control book of the company’s active fire protection means, which it must keep based on the 12/2012 fire ordinance, and its incomplete compliance was found for the years 2022 and 2023as it was uninformed by the competent technical scientist (engineer) regarding the control of the good operation of the permanent fire protection systems available to the company.
c) The recent responsible statement of the recognized fire extinguisher company was requested from our Service and it was found that the number and type of fire extinguishers that were refilled-maintained did not match the number and type provided by the approved active fire protection study.
From the above mentioned and in view of providing maximum safety for the life of the sports fans and competing players from the risk of fire, our Service does not consent to the granting of an operating license to the company “GIPEDO S.A.” AEL FC ARENA, with the existing conditions of the facility.
The committee was chaired by the civil engineer Christos Dayas, secretary by Stavros Hatjilakos, while Dimitris Tsakmakidis was also a member, representing the administration of the sports facility.».
