by

Upheaval… champion celebrated Antwerp! In a terrible derby for the Belgian playoffs, he prevailed 2-1 of the previous pioneer Gank and overtook her in the standings, now holding the reins for the title.

The title contenders remain three, with the leaders reaching 42 points. Genk and Union Saint-Jiloise are tied with 41 points, while Club Brugge is out of contention with 30.

The match was extremely tense, with the visitors finishing the match with ten players for protesting, due to Ouattara and Tresor being sent off, who will miss the next crucial games for the title battle.

Genk took the reins of the score in the 20th minute, in the first major phase of the match, with Mackenzie to hit with a powerful shot. Antwerp missed a great chance to equalize in the 30th minute, with Janssen misses a penalty which was attributed to a foul by Sadik, while in stoppage time Alderweireld managed what his team-mate had previously failed to do.
