The first title of the year is judged today and tomorrow at Final 4 of the Men’s Handball Cup, hosted in Nafplion for the first time. The four teams that reached the two-day judging will all compete for the 40th Cup of history with their own probabilities.
The program opens at 15:30 with the Diomedis Argos-Doukas match. The Argos team reaches the Final 4 for the seventh time and is looking for its second appearance in the final after 2014, but also its first title. The total of the schools, on the other hand, has four conquests, with the last one in 2010.
At 19:156 (ERT3) the big match of the day takes place between Olympiakos and AEK, the two teams that are vying for the championship in the finals that will follow. The “red and white” in their third participation in the Final 4 want their third title after 2018 and 2019. The “Union” counts four trophies, with the last one in 2021, while reaching the Final 4 for the sixth time.
“We have a difficult game, it’s a derby. All teams have a 25% chance for the Cup“, emphasized the coach of Olympiakos, Nikos Grammatikos. “I think that every team has its potential and its percentages. I agree that everyone has 25% and there are no favorites. The Final Four always carries risks, but we are well prepared. My wish is that the event ends without injuries“, said the coach of AEK, Alexis Albanos.
