Stoiximan Super League: Title night with a “fire” match in “G. Karaiskakis”-“Kl. Vikelides”

by

Two “turns” are left to complete this year’s championship, with Panathinaikos and AEK going hand in hand in the season finale.

Tonight’s 9th matchday of the Playoffs of the Stoiximan Super League is one of the most pivotal, as the “clover” faces Olympiakos away and “Enos” travels to Thessaloniki to play against Aris.

PAOK, who is interested in her 3rd place (like Olympiacos), plays with Volos at Panthessaliko Stadium.

ARIS – AEK

AEK has won all three games between them this year, first in Thessaloniki for the First Round of the regular season by 2-0 and then both for the Second Round (3-0) and for the Stoiximan Playoffs (3-1).

Aris had done the opposite in the previous season, since after losing the First Round 2-1 on October 31, 2021 at the home of AEK, they prevailed in all three matches that followed. They won the Second Round 2-1, as well as both matches of last year’s Playoffs.

There has been a winner in their last seven games and their last draw was on 16 May 2021 for the 2020-21 Championship Playoffs, in a match hosted by AEK. In their last 12 games, however, there is only this draw.

Levia Garcia is the footballer who has scored in two of the three meetings between the two teams this year, while for Aris the only goal has been scored by Iturbe.

VOLOS – PAOK

This is the fifth meeting between the two teams with Volos at home, who have so far failed to score at home against Dikephalos.

In this year’s championship match, PAOK prevailed 1-0 thanks to a goal by Brandon Thomas, while as the home team they won 3-0 in the First Round with goals from Oliveira, Zivkovic and Augusto.

The first game between them for the Playoffs ended 4-2 and it was the only one that found the net for Volos, who may not have scored at home against PAOK, but away they have a total of seven goals.

PAOK started the Playoffs process with an away win over Aris, which is the only one they have in this year’s process, while Volos has been defeated in all their home games.

OLYMPIAKOS – PANATHINAIKOS

Panathinaikos is undefeated in the last seven away games against Olympiakos, with the last victory of the Red and Whites being on May 16, 2021 for the Playoffs with 4-1 at the Alexandra Avenue stadium.

In the last two matches at the Karaiskakis Stadium for the regular duration of the championship, they have ended with a goalless draw, while on May 11, 2022, Panathinaikos prevailed 2-1 for the Playoffs thanks to the goals of Palasios and Schenkefeld, while for Olympiakos, Tiquinio.

The Greens had won both games of last year’s Playoffs, after reaching 1-0 in “Apostolos Nikolaidis” with Aitor.

The two teams have faced each other for four seasons in the Playoffs process together with this year and in the total of seven matches that have taken place so far in both venues, Olympiacos has three wins, Panathinaikos three and a 0-0 completes the total of matches their. Olympiacos prevailed in the first two home matches against the Greens for the Playoffs with 3-0 and 3-1, while last year Panathinaikos won 2-1.
