Budenholzer’s emotional farewell to the Bucks: There was no better place to work – Giannis is a pillar

by

THE Mike Budenholzer departs from them Bucks after five years leaving a legacy among others a championship. The former Milwaukee coach said goodbye to the organization and the city in an emotional letter. He expresses his gratitude for what the team and the city have offered him, while describing him as a pillar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The letter in detail:

Milwaukee, thank you. It’s been a fantastic five years for me and my family. The city and the entire Bucks organization embraced us and treated us like family. The warmth of the people and the friendships we made here gave more meaning to our lives where it really has value, in our everyday life. Together we won a lot. We won a championship, the first in 50 years. The memories of the parade, with the whole town celebrating with the team, is something I will never forget.

The Bucks players were the best to work with every day. The four pillars, Giannis, Chris, Jrue and Brooke, provided a foundation and leadership to the team. They were surrounded by other great players. As a coach I couldn’t ask for a better team. This year and every year the players have done us proud. Always! I am also forever grateful to the coaching staff, the best in the NBA. The management, employees were all excellent at their jobs, John as general manager and Peter as chairman. I sincerely appreciate their work. I am also grateful to the owners for the confidence they have shown in me and the opportunity to coach in Milwaukee. We all worked together to get better, to create a culture and environment that everyone on the team enjoyed.

It was an honor to do this job and have a place in the history of the city and the Bucks. For that I will be forever grateful. For me there was no better place to coach than the Bucks and Milwaukee.

Thank you, time for some beer and sun on one of the lakes. I wish you the best».
