In the ETTU European rankings for May, Alexoudis, Kioseloglou, Koutra, Kosmas in the Under 13 and Under 15 age categories, now see their great successes reflected in points and undoubtedly this is a reward, an impetus for the continuation in trips, in fact, that have a lot of expenses for the parents.

The main news is characterized as impressive, as Konstantinos Alexoudis, Yiannis Kioseloglou and Yiannis Koutras were among the first 25 of Europe! At number 15 of the category of athletes up to 13 years old is Alexoudis, at number 23 of the same category is Kioseloglou and at number 25 of athletes up to 15 years old is Koutras.

Also, Giorgos Kosmas “climbed” to number 39 among the boys, while the two girls who competed in Osijek, Stella Mavromataki and Georgia Spanou, had a noticeable rise in the European Under 15 and came close to the top 100.

Besides, in the European table of U21 and U19 female athletes, Malamatenia Papadimitriou, who last month took part in other important competitions on the old continent, climbed to the 39th and 46th positions respectively.

In the singles of the first Open of the Europe Youth Series, Koutras won the gold medal in the boys, Kioseloglou the bronze medal in the boys, Alexoudis entered the eight of the boys and Kosmas in the 16 of the boys.

Mavromataki and Spanou were excluded from the groups, but in the matches of the B’ category in Under 15 they took second and third place respectively, while all the children had scored many individual victories in the team matches.

According to ETTU’s update from January, these “experimental”, as it has called them for 2023, own evaluation tables of young ages will not count for the seeding of the European Championships concerning the categories Under 13 and Under 15, since the world tables will be taken into account again this year.

However, within its objectives with the creation of the European ranking platform, the ETTU had also stated that the ranking should perfectly represent the results of athletes under 15 and under 13 years of age in the new Europe Youth Series, therefore the high scores have value positions of the Greek internationals.

Before we see the new positions of the children, let’s note that the following categories in the young ages are derived from the global evaluation table. In addition, the ETTU characterizes the autonomous rl in men and women as “experimental” and from this it also calculates the monthly ranking in the Young Men and Young Women (Under 21).

Finally, we point out that our aforementioned junior internationals are also in the weekly world rankings from their Youth Contender appearances, but Europe Youth Series results are not counted by the ITTF, at least for now.
