Pavlidis said goodbye to Olympiakos: “Words are poor, I can only say thank you”

Haris Pavlidis said goodbye to Olympiakos with emotion, who will continue his career in the national team of China.

«After 14.5 years it is time to say goodbye to the best period of my coaching career. But how can you leave the most beautiful part of your life?

Because this is exactly the 14.5 years I spent as coach of Olympiacos. Words are poor to describe my feelings for what I leave behind. All I can do is thank:

First of all, I would like to thank the simple Olympiacos fan, who from his backwardness with the Fan Cards, the Members or simply with their presence on the field, constituted and are the extra player that pushed us to victory.

To say a big thank you to the kids who work for this club and are family now.

To thank my colleagues all these years who did the hard work and were almost always in obscurity and did not get the recognition they deserved. Vassilis, Giannis, Aki, Giorgos, Kostas, Nikos, Aris, Michalis, Giorgos, Panagiotis τώ thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I would especially like to thank my immediate colleague, Aleka, who started this journey together and who’s own a huge part of this team’s success. Aleka, thank you very much, you know that you have a special place in my heart.

Of course, I would like to thank the “General” of the club, our president Michalis Kountouris, who with the trust he showed me from the first moment of our acquaintance, I was able to work unaffected and manage to reach the team together as I had promised, at the highest point. I really think I was very lucky to work with such a person. President, you know that I will always be here for whatever the team needs, even as a mere fan.

We could not achieve all this without the presence of the leader of the family of Olympiacos, Vangelis Marinakis, which is a guarantee for the whole club. I thank him because I know very well, through discussions with the management that thanks to him we managed not only to conquer the top but also to overcome the many difficulties we faced in this process. We lived what we dreamed of and remained at the highest level.

Last I left my athletes.

Everyone I trained at least once gave me something. They pushed me to my limits, to become a better coach, worthy to train such athletes. To be ready to answer every question and every question, not to seem inadequate. That was my biggest fear, maybe I am not worthy of the team I made myself. We reached so high girls !!! I love you and you will always have a special place in my life. I hope this is not the last goodbye but a pause.

So let’s do it again! “
