Statements about the course, but also the goals of PAOK this season, were given by the team’s coach, Fotis Takianos.
The coach of the “black and white” emphasized that his team has adjusted its goals upwards and is achieving them, while he added that it should be competitive against Olympiakos.
His statements in detail:
“Congratulations to Olympiakos for qualifying and good luck in the Final Four.
In a short period of time, PAOK readjusted their goals upwards and is catching them. We are happy to do it and give it back to the organization, which is in the process of financial consolidation and PAOK has such successes to support the whole building.
Our logic is still the same. We will create a short-term goal. We know the dynamics of the opponent and the difference in capacity. Our goal is to be as competitive and ready as possible for the next game.
On the pitch, it will be seen if we manage to win third place through our competitive and mental preparation.”
On whether PAOK can break Olympiakos’ unbeaten streak: “Let’s be realistic. Olympiacos losing to PAOK has the least chance. To push ourselves to reach above our red lines. To be competitive against Olympiakos. Let’s see how we will prepare and show up giving 100%”.
For the upcoming Basket League format change with more games: “We have to see the format change in all teams. Some groups will be burdened, others will enter a better evaluation process. The more games you play, the lower the percentage of luck. I personally consider it positive and it should be done. Our main job as coaches and players is on the field.”
