The opinion that next year will be a failure if Milan does not manage to get the ticket for next season’s Champions League, expressed Stefano Pioli after the exclusion from Inter.
The Italian coach at the press conference emphasized that his team was superior in the first half, while he attributed the defeat to the Nerazzurri to the missed opportunities of Leao and Brahim Diaz.
His statements in detail:
“We had a good first half where we had the chance to take the lead but we didn’t do it. The game is a big disappointment, we wanted to go to the final but unfortunately we didn’t make it. There are frustrations that we didn’t manage to score the goal that would have allowed us to change the game. If you don’t go ahead in these games your task becomes more difficult.
Today we played as a team but lacked precision and speed. Unfortunately it did not end with the desired result.
The season has taught us a lot, we have identified some areas that we can improve to be stronger. The goal is to be competitive in both competitions. If we end up not playing in the Champions League next year, the year will be a failure. We have to win the championship, there are three games left and we have to beat whoever comes in front of us”.
