This year’s athletics “Venizelia” in Chania will bring together some of the country’s leading sportsmen and women, such as Michalis Anastasakis and Christos Franzeskakis in the hammer throw and Dimitra Gnafaki in the 400 meters hurdles.

The men’s triple jump with the “silver” European indoor champion, Nikos Andrikopoulos, as well as Dimitris Tsiamis and Andreas Pantazis, will be of great interest. In the 110 meters hurdles the presence of Kostas Douvalidis stands out, while in the speed roads Sotiris Garaganis will take the starting position.

The match is organized by SEGAS, AO Chania Kydon, GS El. Venizelos and EAS SEGAS of Crete, with co-organizers the Region of Crete, the Municipality of Chania, the Municipality of Platanias, the Municipality of Apokoronou, the Research and Studies Foundation “Eleftherios Venizelos”, the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Chania and with the support of E.A. K. Chania and under the auspices of GGA.

The event belongs to the “EAA Bronze” category.

The official events of the international meeting are 12, the following:

Men: 100m – 400m. – 1,500m – 110m. Hurdles – Long Jump – Triple Jump – Hammer Throw

Women: 100m – 400m – 100m. Hurdles – 400m. Obstacles – Height

Apart from the official competition program and only for sportsmen and women of the clubs of Crete, the competitions will also be held:

Men’s: 100 – 400 – 800m – Discus throw

Women’s: 100 – 400 – 800 – Shot put – Hammer throw

Men’s U20: Shot put

K 18 Men: On Short

K 18 Women: Short Shot – Hammer Throw

K 16 Boys – Girls: 80 – 150 – 600 – Hammer throw

K14 Boys – Girls: Relay 8X50
