Two great hits celebrated the Greek crews in today’s program of the European rowing championship held in Slovenia.
The Greek team won two medals in lightweight double skiff, one in the men’s category and one in the women’s category. These are historic successes, as they come in both events for the first time after eleven years.
Zoe Fitsiu and Milena Kontou they took second place with 6:54.78 and put Greece on the podium after Christina Yazizidou and Alexandra Tsiavou who had achieved it in 2012.
In the corresponding men’s event, Petros Gaidatzis and Antonis Papakonstantinou they won the bronze, after an exciting race. Again, the last Greek success was in 2012, when Panagiotis Magdanis and Spyros Giannaros took the gold.
Tomorrow (Sunday 28/5) the program includes two more finals. THE Evangelia Anastasiadou will compete at 12:01 in the final of the light weight skiff, while the Olympic champion will compete in the men’s event Stefanos Duskos at 14:25.
Besides, early in the morning (10:25) the third final of the Men’s Division will be held, with the participation of the brothers Zisi and Dimitris Boukouvala.
The finals will be broadcast live (11:45-15:00) by ERT3.
