Jengo was present at “Papaflessia”.

Elina Jengo has competed three times this year in the javelin, with her best throw being 63.65 which she threw in Leiria and the European Throwing Cup. In Kalamata, the European champion will face the Cuban Julemnis Aguilar and the Serbian Marija Vusenović.

After her impressive performance at the international meeting in Limassol, Poliniki Emmanouilidou will take her place at the start of the 200 meters. The 20-year-old sprinter in Cyprus equaled the pan-Hellenic K23 record with 23.18 and showed that she is ready for even lower times. Artemis Anastasiou will also participate in the competition, while the Brazilian Lorraine Martins stands out among the foreign athletes.

In the men’s triple jump, the trio of Nikos Andrikopoulos, Dimitris Tsiamis and Andreas Pantazis will be present, while Spyridoula Karydis will compete in the women’s long jump.

In the women’s high, Tatiana Gusin will be competing in her third event in the open track and will aim to jump close to the 1.92 she set at the ‘Filothei Woman Gala’. Despina Maltabe, Eleftheria Christogeorgou will compete with her.

In the 100 meters hurdles, Elisavet Pesiridou stands out and will aim for another fast race with her opponent Sofia Iosifidou.

In the men’s 100 meters, the participation of Dimitris Chrysafis and Panagiotis Trivyzas stands out, while in the 200 meters Sotiris Garaganis, Vassilis Myrianthopoulos and Trivyzas will participate.

The games are organized by the Messinian General Assembly 1888 in collaboration with the Region of Peloponnese, the Municipality of Kalamata, the Chamber of Messinia, SEGAS and are held under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Sports.

The games will be attended by Dobromir Karamarinov, President of the European Athletics Federation and member of the World Federation.
