Heavy friendly defeat by Italy for the Women’s National Team

With a heavy defeat, 93-40 against Italy, the Women’s National Team had a dress rehearsal for the upcoming Eurobasket. The Greek group played in front of a packed house of St. Thomas in the last friendly before the departure of the team on June 13 for Tel Aviv and the first phase of EuroBasket (June 15-25).

The match

The weapon of the Italian girls was Andre Olbis Futo. With 10 points of her own, her team reached 14-5 (4’40”), before Stamolambrou made it 14-7 (5′). Two actions by Chineke in attack and defense helped to form 19-13 (7’15”), but the Italian women with good partnerships reached the double score (26-13, 8’35”) opening the pace of the game as well .
