The prosecutor in the Alki trial is a catapult for the defendants: “The attack was pre-planned”

“The attack was not random, but organized and planned until the last second with a common homicidal intent against all the victims,” ​​said the prosecutor, Kyriaki Kliaba, starting her trial at the trial for the murder of 19-year-old Alkis Kampanos and the wounding of the two friends of after a brutal fan-motivated attack in Harilaou.

“But one family will suffer for life. The families on the right walk with their heads held high, but those on the left – s.s. the families of the accused – perhaps they have realized within themselves that their children had lost their way a long time ago, following that of hatred”, he said and added that the court must come to a fair judgment.

“We don’t judge families”, he said and emphasized that he will not refer to the statements of the accused’s parents at all, however quoting a mother’s phrase “about a big and impressive sickle” and underlined that the “sickle that once reaped wheat, now reaps lives” .

“I cannot accept that the defendants are good guys. Good guys don’t go around with guns and don’t take lives,” he said and added that the attack “wasn’t random but organized and planned until the last second. You will perceive the common homicidal intent against all the victims.”

In the continuation of her speech, the prosecutor emphasized that the defendants made this decision “driven by passion, fanaticism and a rabid hatred for the taking of the life of their enemies, the eternal ones.”

“They were going around armed with an extermination plan. The five young people had nothing on them, because they were enjoying life. They only had one soft drink that Alkis and his friend shared for the last time, that was their equipment,” he said and underlined that Alkis and his friends were surprised by the attack.

“It appeared from their statements that they were in shock. The only ones who understood what was going on in that chaos were the defendants who had made a decision to kill and not just to bully.”
